Miranda Morris is an illustrator, writer, and multi-instrumentalist who splits her time between New Orleans, LA and Hamilton, ON. She received a BFA in film production from Ryerson University, with distinction in production design and screenwriting. She plays trombone and provides occasional vocals for New Orleans-based 12-piece funk band TV Pole Shine, who released their album “To Screw in a Lightbulb” in spring 2021.

A former park ranger hailing from the Georgian Bay region of rural Ontario, Miranda is influenced by natural and architectural aesthetics of the North and South alike, with a penchant for the magical.

She has been published in Critical Read and was shortlisted for the 2021 CBC Literary Prize in Short Fiction with her story “Stump”.
